It’s March 1st, so that means it’s new theme time! For the next 2 months, our theme will be Small Crochet. Feel free to interpret this any way you wish; the only ‘rule’ is that the finished items should be under about 6 inches (or 15cm – thanks Eve!) in size. The idea is to make small items that will provide some of that ‘instant gratification’ feeling 🙂 This may include:
To start us off, I’ve put up some of the new pattern categories in the sidebar (Flowers, Cozies, Amigurumi) and Tracie will be adding some more categories soon. If you have any more small pattern links, please e-mail Tracie and she will add them to the list!
A couple of Granny Square-related items, particularly for our newer members:
-
If you’re looking for the Granny Square links from the sidebar, they, along with all the other old theme links, can be found in Past Theme Links (linked from above the banner at the top of the page)
-
If you’re still working on your Granny items (I haven’t finished mine either!) please do post your work when it’s finished so we can all see what you’ve made!
I look forward to see what we’ll all come up with – let the Small Crochet begin!
June
[…] I am still grannying along The next theme is already […]
Thanks June! It’s Autumn here and I cannot wait to get started!! Maybe you would like to mention that 6inches works out to 15cm for us on the other side of the world 🙂

am looking forward to springtime at small crochet, especially wire work. have been crocheting silver wire with gemstone beads for 12 years and am still going strong.

Hey Pat! I’d love to see your wire work; maybe you could share some tips? I’ve tried this before and can’t seem to make it look like anything more than a mess of wire that the cat got too first…
hi
could you please tell me what kind of flowers those are …that is really sweet
thank you
kittykatt, I’m sorry I didn’t see your message until now!
I didn’t have a pattern for the flowers, I just made them up. I’ll put together a tutorial for them if I have time!
Hi,
I have been looking for some very small pretty flowers – yours are perfect. I see that in reply to Kittykat you mention a tutorial. Could you just tell me what stitch you used – that would be helpful.
Thanks
