Yet another hat! I love making hats, they are just so interest and, of course, instant!

I made this hat for the same woman that I made the other hat for. It was made with Caron Simply Soft Brites in yellow, blue, green and pink. This hat should brighten up anyones day, no matter how gray it may be.

I think I am going to have to make one for me, simply because it would be a beautiful shot of color in the middle of winter.

I got the pattern from ravelry. If anyone wants the specifics, let me know and I’ll find the blog it came from! (I just don’t have it in front of me right now…and I’m really supposed to be writing a paper for class!)

The Octosibs

Here are my 3 OctoSibs for a swap I’m in. I put little flowers on the larger blue one but didn’t take a picture until later. I found the patterns online for free on craftster and flickr

Thanks to eveyone who voted on the new theme. The votes were mostly split between Summer crochet, summer wearables, embellished bags and wire crochet, although we have a clear winner with SUMMER CROCHET! I think it’ll be a fun sunny theme to keep us all happy.

Summer crochet includes items from all of the above votes – plus amigurumi and other small items – just keep them related to summer and you won’t go wrong! Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Summer purse
  • Crocheted fruit
  • Beach bag
  • Crocheted flowers
  • Amigurumi butterflies
  • A light summer wrap/shawl to wear in the evenings
  • Crocheted bikini (for the brave only – I won’t be wearing one!)
  • Sunhat
  • Wire crocheted jewellery

You get the idea – there are almost no limits to this theme! But please do make sure your posts have something to do with summer…

5 more days to show off your small crochet and then we’ll begin 🙂

As always, please send any cool summer crochet-related links to Tracie, who will help me set up the sidebar links for the new theme.

I designed and crocheted tiny lace for bottle cap pincushion rings. This was my first time making lace. I really like the first one. The second one is simple and extremely tiny… and I’m not sure you can even call it lace. lol

My Miniature Jointed Teddy Bear. I was visiting some websites and came upon a few miniature crochet/craft sites, and well, it inspired me to try this little bear. My lil bear stands a little over 3 inches, but I have to confess, it took me longer to crochet this little bear than it did with an average sized amigurumi. I used Size US-B/2mm crochet hook and fingering sock yarn, I also crocheted a mini scarf, using #3 cotton crochet thread and size B hook. I may try other miniatures, after my fingers heal, lol.

The Great Dane is a little over 15 cm (in fact, he’s 17 cm), but his fellow little Chi measures only 5 cm (ears included!), so together I guess they’ll fit the theme.
