Nubby Bear

I have a soft spot for teddy bears. This is my second jointed bear. I wanted to try another yarn, so I went with a boucle type yarn (Bernat Soft Boucle) . I had to use a larger hook for this yarn, he measures 8 inches tall. I really like how he turned out, really soft and cuddly. Now I have to find a spot for him (until my daughter snags it away).

I told ya guys, I love the small stuff for that instant gratification! I have lots of little things that I have made in recent weeks, so have to share some more with you guys now!

lace cap

I made this hat for a friend of a friend, who has cancer, and is, I’m sure is getting ready to enjoy it! I used the lace cap pattern from here. I used a DK weight yarn to make it, instead of the worsted weight, since summer is coming up soon…

I think I might have to make this for myself too!

Lil Lambkins

My newst Amigurumi – I thought I was going to add her to my collection, but my daughter snagged it before I had a chance to find a spot for her. She stands 4inches tall.

I joined this group not too long ago (like a week or so, really…) and really like the idea of how this works!  Plus, it gives me extra motivation!  I love working on small things, mainly for the “instant gratification” that goes along with them!  So, here is one of my small projects for sharing! And don’t worry, I have more to share as later!

Craftyness

This rabbit I made for my son, Alex, for Easter.  I used the “Best Bunny” pattern from Lion Brand Yarn.  I just think it’s sooo cute.  I also made another one for a coworker and her daughter but didn’t have time to get a picture of it before I had to give it to her.

This was also my first attempt at amigurumi and I think I really like it! In fact, I have a monkey to make for my little one now and will gladly share that too whenever I get done with it!

Thanks (again) to June for helping me out a bit.

This was by far the SMALLEST crochet hook/thread I have ever used. After finishing the dress, I switched off to some worsted weight yarn and crocheted a hat for Blythe as well. Let me tell you, that hook and yarn felt JUMBO compared to what I used for the dress.

I suppose the hat qualifies for small crochet too…so here it is…

They were both super fun to make!

Small Crochet has been a wonderful theme, with lots of great work being completed! And it’s not over yet – we still have until the end of April to keep Small Crocheting. But I’d like us to start thinking now about the next theme that will run May – June, as Tracie and I will need some time to get the admin side together before the theme starts.

You probably know the drill by now; please comment on this post with your theme ideas – please try to keep them quite general so we aren’t limited as to what we can make! To get us started, here are some leftover suggestions from previous months:

  • Amigurumi revisited
  • Bags/purses
  • Crocheted Embellishments (flowers etc)
  • Clothing
  • Baby stuff
  • Wire crochet
  • Useful crochet (coasters, cozies, etc)
  • Your ideas..?

Votes? Other suggestions? Please comment below! We have 77 members now, so I expect to see 76 comments on this post 😉
